When I think of Philip, I think of growth, maturity, and wisdom. This season of my spiritual journey has a lot to do with growth, moving forward, and building upon my experiences with the Lord. I know the verse in the drawing (Psalm 1:3) isn’t typically used to exemplify growth but it came to me as I reflected on the character of Philip. I think what spoke to me is that the tree matures and yields fruit. Bearing godly fruit is always a sign of growth🍋
As I was studying Hebrews 5, V14 in TPT version says “solid food is for the mature, whose spiritual senses 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴. And they have been adequately trained by what they’ve experienced to 𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘦 with understanding of the difference between what is 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 excellent and what is evil and harmful”. MSG version says the mature have “𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦 in telling right from wrong”. One of my key takeaways from this chapter is: to be mature is not to be perfect at everything, learning is continuous.
